Police Records Specialist - Harrisonburg

Full-time position with benefits. Minimum starting salary: $28,912. Position responsible for performing specialized legal tasks under stressful conditions; processes and provides quality control on incident reports, warrants and other legal documents. Ability to examine documents for sufficiency of information and conformance to code and legal requirements. Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with internal employees and external customers and perform customer service duties both in person and on the telephone. Responsible for taking civil (not criminal) fingerprints, as needed. Ability to enter and review large volumes of data accurately and completely in electronic format at a reasonable rate of speed; to follow written and oral instructions; and to make independent decisions, as required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and ability to navigate computer networks, the internet and e-mail systems. Bilingual (oral and written) abilities preferred. Must be available to work 12-hour shifts, day and/or night shift schedule, to include weekends and holidays. Evening/night shift work required. Records is a 24-hour/day, 7-day/week operation.
