Patient Access Specialists are responsible for admitting patients for outpatient and inpatient services, emergency room and long-term care services as well as collecting deposits from patients towards the balance of their visit. Specialists answer switchboard calls, verify insurance information, screen for prior authorization and medical necessity requirements, and ensure all paperwork is properly signed and accounted for in the registration process.
