Biological Science Technician - Luray

Full-time, seasonal. Serves as program lead for the fire effects monitoring program for several parks in the Northeast Region; leads a 3-person field crew in the collection of fire effects monitoring data.  Independently identifies grasses, herbs, shrubs, and trees to species level in a variety of ecosystems. Trains and leads technician and volunteers to establish and monitor plots in a variety of fuel/vegetation types.  Prepares fire behavior monitoring documentation forms for prescribed burns.  Serves as an instructor for courses in fire effects monitoring as requested.  $34k-$50k/year.  *This position offers preference to veterans.* Application deadline March 19.
